My Very Own Titanic Moment: I'll Never Let Go

Wednesday night as we were cleaning up toys at Raegan's bedtime, she knocked over one of her tea cups and spilled water on my laptop (that I should not have had open at the time). Thankfully it was only 1-2 oz. max, and I immediately turned the computer upside-down to let the water fall out. Ryan tried to turn it off and I yelled "NO! Please, NO!" to save some things that I could redo if needed. It was a poor decision in the moment and I was really mad at myself once the dust settled and he explained the importance of shutting it off immediately. He knows everything about everything; he really does. He's very handy to have around.

We left it to dry all night and all day Thursday, hoping that it wasn't ruined. By Friday afternoon he said we could turn it on briefly and save important things to an external hard drive. So, what do I save first, women and children, right? First on the list was Raegan's pictures and videos, then my designs, a few personal projects, etc. It's best that I didn't even start looking through my documents and trying to choose what to save. I have lesson plans, decorating ideas, a house wish list, a book idea, etc. Sunday morning we felt like it was safe to give it a whirl, and I needed to finish an invitation for a customer. Everything seemed to be working fine, and I finished the invitation.

Enough with my references to "The Office" already, but I can't help but think about the Booze Cruise episode and laugh as I reflect on my incident.
