Raegan woke up at 3am Tuesday morning and started whimpering at 3:45. Soon afterwards, she was crying in pain and had gas. She never really went back to sleep, and my mom and I took turns holding her. She drank milk but wouldn't drink water or eat. It was the most pitiful thing! I've never seen her like this. It's strange to go so long without seeing her walk around smiling and hearing her talk. We ended up holding her until about 2:30pm to keep her comfortable and she napped a couple of times. We took her outside for some fresh air and she began to feel better. Actually, she did a quick 180. She came in and had some water and graham crackers. We made her a pallet on the love seat and she was hilarious (without meaning to be). She was propped up on pillows and casually flipped through a catalog. She occasionally stuck her feet in the air and had such a cute disposition about her, as if she were playing hooky from school and loving every minute of it. About an hour later she relapsed and then had a small rebound. She had a warm bath and went to bed easily. Thankfully, she had a great night's sleep and is back to her happy self this morning.
Finally able to eat a graham cracker, no pants necessary
catching up on her water intake
As I mentioned, my mom is here and last weekend we took a girl trip to Santa Fe. Ryan and Raegan held down the fort, and I am proud of myself for leaving minimal instructions for Ryan. He knows what's up around here. He took Raegan out for several walks and they did some balloon watching. She loves the balloons and yells "BUH, BUH!" They are only up in the mornings, so we tell her they've gone home and she says "bye, buh!" She also collects rocks and brings them back to the house. When a sizable pile forms on the kitchen counter I release them back into the wild. She knows not to put the rocks in her mouth, so she licks them instead. If we aren't looking she will get our attention to show us that she is technically not breaking the rules by licking.
