I didn't take a single picture of Raegan this past week. I guess I got spoiled by everyone else taking her picture while we were with family. All 3 of us have had some sinus issues since we've been back; it's probably the climate change. Raegan has a stuffy nose but has finally embraced the snot sucker. We messed around with the bulb-type aspirator for a while, but that's child's play. We now have a battery operated power sucker, the Cadillac of nose gadgets, if you will. I was never able to get anything with the nasal aspirator, but this is the real deal!. We tried the sneak attack at first, but that made her cry. Now we ask her if we can help her nose, and she calmly leans towards us and lets us use it on her. Ryan really enjoys it. And for your sick fascination, the prize collects right there in that clear container for all to see and you can marvel at your work. Somehow I ended up with the job of cleaning it out : /
Despite being stopped up, Raegan had a good week. She is taking more of an interest in drawers and cabinets, and the kitchen floor is constantly covered with miscellaneous items. We're moving away from purees; actually, she led the way and we followed. Occasionally she has a green veggie puree, but that's about it. She loves yogurt, so we still spoon-feed that to her. Hopefully she will be able to feed herself soon. Her interest in acquiring that skill comes and goes. She scooped this morning for the first time, then lost interest. I tried a couple of new recipes this week for healthy finger foods. I made broccoli and cheese nuggets and a fun twist on banana pancakes. We all loved both treats! I'm trying to make dinners that we can all eat and not start a habit of making her a separate meal. It's good because it forces me to make our meals healthier and incorporate more vegetables.
Saturday night I went out for a girls' night with Shaina and her sister who's in town for a few days. We had dessert fondue at the Melting Pot and walked around some shops. Tony was in California and just finished his first (and he emphatically says "only") Iron Man. Their baby boy is due in a few weeks and we are very excited for them and for Raegan to have a real live baby to play with and poke.
