She carefully placed this piece of banana on her head and went on about her business.
She likes to cover her face with blankets and walk around, even though she can't see anything. We think she's definitely a weird one, and we mean that in the most precious way. She continues to develop a great sense of humor and some funny quirks.
We've had a busy week here! Raegan's newest friend, baby Andrew, was born early Sunday morning. We visited Tony and Shaina a few times and kept them company while they were in the hospital for several days due to the C-section. Raegan is doing a great job of taking care of her baby doll at home. I try to be gentle with it and help her learn to be gentle with babies instead of poking their eyes out. We taught her the sign for "change," as in diaper change, so she brings us her doll and tells us it needs to be changed. So, I ask her to bring me some wipes and she does. We change her doll's diaper and she watches carefully. Then she usually picks it up by it's hair and walks off.
We went to play group on Monday and Raegan had a great time playing inside and outside. She pushed a grocery cart and took another boy's cup about 20 times. She doesn't really play with other kids yet. She is happy to occupy herself and doesn't seem to mind that other kids are doing something else. She's been taking great naps and eating bananas like nobody's business! She had 2 yesterday. She just keeps asking for more "ba-ba." We think she might be having a growth spurt, which for her will probably mean she gains about 2 oz. We woke her up this morning at 8:00, and she was not ready to be awake! I think the last time she woke up at 8:00 was when she was a newborn, when all time and space are irrelevant.
Thursday morning our AC went on vacation and the temperature in the house climbed to a balmy 84 degrees. Luckily, it rained that afternoon and cooled things off a little. It was fixed around 6:00 Friday evening and we are very thankful for our cool house. Saturday morning I got the neatest thing in the mail from my friend in Nashville - a chain letter for a children's book exchange. We are supposed to send a book to the child on the top of the list, and if everyone participates correctly Raegan will end up with 36 new books! She really loves her books at home, and they hold her attention for a long time, as well as blocks and puzzles. No batteries required!

The book chain letter is a great idea. I don't think I have ever heard of it before, but it would work for any age. Love it!
