Iced Coffee

I'm certainly no Julia Child in the kitchen, but I'm pretty pleased with the iced coffee drink I've been making lately. I truly enjoy my morning coffee, but with the summer heat, something cold seems more appealing lately. Here's my simple recipe after a little tinkering.
  • 1 packet of Columbian VIA instant coffee
  • 1 packet of Splenda
  • add about 2 oz. of hot water to coffee grounds and Splenda in a tall glass
  • add 1 teaspoonful of Coffee ice cream and let it melt in the hot coffee ~ I use Haagen Dazs five ice cream
  • add 6 oz. of milk and stir
  • if you want it really cold, finish with coffee ice cubes so it doesn't get watered down ~ I don't use ice, but you can fill an ice cube tray with regular coffee or the fully made iced coffee
I like strong coffee, and this is set to my preferred taste.
You can adjust the taste by:
  • adding more/less hot water at the beginning
  • adjusting the amount of milk
  • adjusting the amount of sweetener, or use none
