Independent Ladies

Raegan with Grandmommy and Pop

I think this outfit pretty much sums up her life right now :)

Ryan's family left Tuesday morning and we were sad to see them go! It dawned on me shortly afterwards that I have done very little cooking and cleaning in the past 6 weeks when my parents first arrived. We have been very spoiled with so much help. Tuesday we were completely out of milk and I knew the time had come for me to get out with Raegan by myself. I waited until she was full from a feeding then I let her nap for a few minutes while I got ready. I hated to pick her up to put her in the car seat. Disturbing a sleeping baby goes against everything that makes sense to me! I was SO close to not going, I cried, then decided I had to do this. Off we went and she did great! I, on the other hand, was a nervous wreck the whole time. I was throwing things in the cart left and right. She fussed for a second in the store, but riding in the cart calmed her down.

Wednesday we had a rough day at home. She acted hungry all day and did not want to nap. I was feeding her during Oprah and Darius Rucker was on the show for country music day. He sang his song "It Won't Be Like This for Long." Ryan played it for me when I was pregnant and I cried, so I knew I didn't want to hear it again at the moment. Unfortunately, I couldn't reach the remote and had to listen to it... and I sat there and cried. But it was a sweet reminder during a hard day. She was so exhausted when Ryan got home, but she cried and fought off the sleep. Why is everyone crying around here?! We finally got her to bed at 10:00 and she slept for 4 hours. She gets the hiccups everyday. It's so frustrating because a lot of times she gets them a few minutes after her nap starts and they wake her up. She tolerates them patiently for a few minutes and then cries if they continue.

Thursday I decided to tackle going to Sam's to pick up a mattress pad I had on hold. She fell asleep while I was paying, so I decided to browse around. She slept the whole time and woke up 2 hours after we got home. Friday I took her to Trader Joe's for pizza ingredients. She slept the whole way there and woke up when we went in. She didn't fuss at all. She just looked around at everything. Saturday morning we went to breakfast at one of our favorite places with outdoor seating. We fed her at home first so she'd be sleepy. She dozed off and on and was really quiet. It was nice to get out together with her and enjoy our breakfast and coffee.
