First Bath

Raegan is almost 2 weeks old. Even with the sleepless nights, it has gone by fast! Friday was my first day at home alone with her. She had a good day and took several good naps, and so did I :) There wasn't much for me to do around here because my mom did everything before she left. Ryan brought us breakfast and coffee after he took my mom to the airport. I highly recommend the new breakfast sandwiches at Starbucks! Then we all made a quick trip to the bank. It was nice to get out in the sun. She did well in the car as long as we were moving.

Saturday night Shaina invited me out for coffee and Tony and Ryan stayed home with Raegan. She slept most of the time and he fed her a few minutes before we got home. She takes a bottle well, but doesn't seem satisfied. I've only been giving her one when I really need to, but I think she likes the nursing experience better. She's been grazing a lot the past couple of nights. I've slept with her in the guest bedroom because she slept really well in there with my mom. She eats for about 10 minutes then falls asleep on me. When I put her down she wakes up within an hour and acts hungry again, which makes for a long night! I try waking her up to eat more when she falls asleep on me, but it doesn't work.
We had a lazy Sunday and gave Raegan her first bath in her tub. Ryan said she's been smelling like macaroni :) She didn't enjoy it, but we were fast and she settled down pretty quickly. I made it to Target today! I've been trying to go since Tuesday and haven't managed to get out. It was so nice to be out, but I feel like I need a sign that says "I just had a baby" to explain why I still walk slow. Ryan is out for a run and we are planning to grill burgers when he gets back. It's good for both of us to take turns getting out and doing something we enjoy. Soon we can get out together with her, but I'm really nervous about it. I have to take her to the lab on Tuesday for her PKU follow up. I don't even know what it's for, but I'm pretty sure they prick her foot and I'm not looking forward to it. She has her next pediatrician's appointment on Friday. Ryan's parents and niece will be here tomorrow afternoon and we are looking forward to their visit.

I can put a sign in the mail for you if you would like! The PKU is not a big deal at all. You will probably have a harder time with it than she will. Just wait until they start giving her shots...man that is difficult. You seem to be doing wonderfully! I knew you would be a great mom! Let me know if you need anything!!

Small bit of advice.... get out and have alone time or time with your friends when you can or you will go crazy staying at home all day very day! It took me 6 months to realize this! :)
