We've had a great time with Ryan's family so far. They have been really helpful with Raegan, cooking, laundry, etc. Tuesday I took her to the lab for her PKU follow-up. They pricked her foot and she cried after she realized what happened, but she calmed down quickly and slept the whole way home. As of Monday, she hadn't pooped in 10 days. I called the pediatrician again and they recommended a glycerin suppository. We had already tried the rectal thermometer with no success. I say "we" but let's be honest, I just held the flashlight while Ryan did the hard part. I'd like to believe I could do it if I were alone and it had to be done, but I just felt so bad for her. We braced ourselves because we knew we were opening the floodgates. We had become spoiled by changing only pee diapers for 2 weeks. Sure enough, within 30 minutes she had an explosion. It was all the way up her back! On the bright side, the horrible gas has subsided since then. No wonder it was so bad! She had another explosion the next day while I was alone with her. This time it came up the front. I was not aware that could happen.

Wednesday I took her for a walk in the stroller for the first time. She seemed to enjoy it and fell asleep. Thursday was a rough day and night. She seemed to act hungry and fussy all day. Ryan had to get up really early for work and she didn't calm down until 12:30. She slept well and has had a good day today. We took her to the pediatrician for a check up and everything is right on track. She weighs 8 pounds and 3 ounces. As soon as we took her clothes off to put her on the scale she peed all over me :) Next on the agenda is establishing some sort of routine.
