10 Months

Raegan and I held down the fort last week while Ryan was out of town for 4 days. That's the longest we've stayed by ourselves, and we both maintained our sanity. It was a huge help that Raegan is back on track with her naps, night time sleep, and didn't seem to have teething pain. We went to play group and ran a few errands during the week. I had my first set of stitches out on Thursday and Raegan was great at the doctor's office. I'm sure it helped that the nurse doted on her the whole time. I tried a new combination of pumpkin, banana, and cinnamon and she loves it! I also added a little bit of banana to avocado and it was actually good. I don't normally like avocado or guacamole, but this was pretty tasty. Raegan turned 10 months old this week, so I included some fun facts at the end of the post.

Saturday night we had Tony and Shaina over for dinner. We grilled tri-tip sirloin and had baked potatoes and salad. The steak was so tender! It came from Sam's, already seasoned and marinated, ready to throw on the grill. Costco carries it, too. I had a wonderful Mother's Day today. Ryan and Raegan gave me a card that she "signed." My camera battery needs to be charged, so I'll include a picture of the card next time. We went to breakfast and I got to do whatever I wanted today. I chose to watch college softball on TV and have an iced white mocha.

Her enjoyment of the pool lasted about 2 minutes.

Don't even think about stealing 2nd on this arm!

The mighty Casey has struck out.

This is definitely my favorite from her 10 month pictures

  • weighs 17 1/2 pounds on the scale at home
  • has 8 teeth ~ I think the front bottom two are full-size and the rest are still growing
  • has 4 bottles per day and 3-4 meals
  • tries to take her clean diaper off before I get her clothes back on
  • bounces when we sing "Shake Your Booty" by KC and the Sunshine Band ~ It's a very versatile song. The words can easily be changed into many things: shake your bottle, kick your feet, brush your teeth. But be warned - once you start, it will be stuck in your head for days on end! Just ask my mom; she went home singing "Shake Raegan's booty."
  • knocks over blocks that I stack up
  • takes things out of containers, such as taking all the clean laundry out of the basket, standing at the coffee table and throwing the mail on the floor
  • eczema is doing well, with just a few very mild spots that come and go
  • waves
  • sometimes sleeps on her stomach with her bottom in the air
  • crawls to the garage door when I say, "Dad's home!"
  • puts her head on our shoulders and lays down on the floor to snuggle her dogs and soft blankets
  • has a big smile on her face when we open the car door to get her out
  • lets go of furniture and our hands and stands by herself for 20+ seconds and bounces with no help
  • tries to go from sitting to standing unassisted and ends up in the downward dog yoga pose
  • beginning to sign "milk" to us, but not every time
  • tries to say book ("buh") and clock ("cah") ~ she really likes the clock on the kitchen wall and notices it while she eats
