We had a good week back on our own, but it was so easy to get spoiled after having help for two weeks! I'm trying to keep her on an eat - play - sleep cycle and it's working pretty well. She slept through the night the first three nights and then started back on her "waking at 2:30 for a snack" habit. She keeps sliding down her sleep wedge, so I may stop using it. I just don't like to put her flat on her back right after she eats. I bought a journal to start for her. My mom started one for her when she found out I was pregnant. I have yet to write in it because I get emotional just thinking about it. I hope she will enjoy reading it some day.
I finished reading The Lost Symbol this week and it did not disappoint! I was so torn because I wanted to keep reading faster, but I didn't want it to end. It takes Dan Brown several years to write a novel, so it will be a while before the next one... if there is a next one. I hope this isn't the end of Professor Robert Langdon. Reading it made me want to go back to Washington, D.C. I did the typical 8th grade tour, but who's really paying attention in 8th grade? Ryan and I went very briefly on the way home from one of his business trips a couple of years ago, but we mostly stayed outside. I highly recommend the book, especially if you enjoy history or a good adventure. It's similar to the "National Treasure" movies.

Raegan will turn 3 months old this week! When we were going through security at the airport, the man asked how old she was. I said "12 weeks." He looked at me with a straight face and said, "That's 3 months" as if to say "Why didn't you just say 3 months." Technically, sir, it's not the same thing. Months have more than 4 weeks, but I didn't feel like going into all that with him, so I just smiled. I've realized that most men don't want to be told things in weeks. Several guys gave me funny looks during my pregnancy when I said I'm x number of weeks. I could see them trying to to the math in their head and quickly give up and ask "How many months is that?" I'll just try to remember to tell men in months instead of weeks.
I didn't do a good job of taking pictures this week, so I'll be sure to post several from our trip when I get them. My photographer (my dad) has been in Chicago so I'm still waiting on pictures. I heard he went a little wild in the American Girl doll store :) I can't wait for Raegan to play with the dolls. I had Samantha and Felicity when I was younger. I gave them away a few years ago and have been kicking myself for it ever since I saw a show on all the work and research that goes into each doll and her time period. Santa brought me a new Samantha last year, just in time because she has now been retired. Looks like Santa will have a few things for Raegan, too :)

I always told people how many weeks I was pregnant too! That's funny! Kaylor is getting an American Doll for Christmas too. Love the little things you can get girls!
