12 Weeks

Raegan loved her first trip to Nashville! We saw so many friends and family members during our stay. She met aunts, uncles, cousins, a dog sister, and her great-grandmother for the first time. Annie was so good with her! She was a little confused and maybe jealous for a few hours, then she stayed with Raegan as much as she could. She was very concerned when Raegan cried and wanted to make sure she was ok by sniffing her head. One day I was changing her and she was crying, so Annie decided to get my mom for back-up. My mom was still home from work following her neck surgery a few weeks ago, so she was there to help a lot. She makes everything look so easy. We worked on getting Raegan into a pattern during the day. We've had a pretty good first day back with our new skills. She was bathed and fed by 8am. She woke up at 5:45 this morning, apparently still on Nashville time. At least she slept through the night, so I shouldn't complain. I didn't sleep very well. She is still in our room in her crib. At my parents' house she's in her own room that I'm connected to (Jack and Jill style). Maybe it's time to move her to her room here??? I don't know if I'm emotionally ready for that!

She did really well on the plane. I was on edge most of the time, but she was great. I made sure she ate to keep her swallowing and she slept most of the rest of the ride. The ride home was a little more difficult because she didn't want to eat. She was too busy trying to put her hands and caterpillar in her mouth. People were very helpful and commented on how well she did.

It seems like she learned a lot of new things while we were gone. For starters, she gained 2 pounds! She was bottle-fed most of the time so other people could feed her and hold her, and I think that helped us make sure she was getting enough. I mentioned earlier that I didn't feel like I was producing enough for her. She loved my parents' ceiling fans and chandeliers. She found her hands and feet and seems to be able to focus her vision better. She is trying to put things in her mouth, especially her Very Hungry Caterpillar toy.

I'll get pictures up as soon as I get them from my dad.
