Ch-Ch-Ch-Chia

Apparently, I am sprouting new hair. Granted, I got my hair cut on Monday, but I didn't get bangs. I found some after I showered Saturday morning. Also, I found a crazy hair when I was brushing my hair today. It feels like a dog hair and half of it is black! I'm baffled and not exactly thrilled with either of these discoveries. I blame the baby ;) Speaking of, this week she is developing a waxy coating to keep her from becoming pickled.
Neat, huh?! Her brain is continuing to develop sensory areas for taste, smell, etc. It's possible that she can hear us now, so I will start reading to her and making her listen to The Beatles.

I've been doing research lately on cloth diapers. I've actually been reading about them since last spring. I originally looked in to them for environmental reasons, but it turns out that they are much more cost effective. I do realize that they require more care, but I'm willing to give it a try. My mom briefly cloth diapered me; I now use them as dust rags. Was that too much info? I'm pretty set on a brand called BumGenius, which is an all-in-one diaper and is supposedly very user friendly. Does anyone have any recommendations or experience with cloth diapers?

My mom came to visit this weekend. We had a much needed pedicure on Saturday and she bought me a couple of shirts. Tony and Shaina came over for pot roast, made by my mom, of course. Sunday morning we had breakfast at Cracker Barrel and went to Santa Fe to drive around for a little while. We went to a friend's house for the Super Bowl. She has a 52" TV that Ryan was drooling over. It's been warm again this week. It's supposed to be about 60 degrees every day. I'm jealous of all the snow days that teachers in TN are getting. The bad thing about snow days here is that we have to make them all up. We've already had a day added to the end of the year for our snow day in December, which I think is lame. We have to go back for the day after Memorial Day. What a waste! On a positive note, a speech therapist at school is also having a girl in June. I talked to her for a while on Friday during lunch and I was excited to learn that she is staying home next year. I also found out that she lives about 5 minutes from us, so we are planning on hanging out and doing activities with her moms' group. I never thought I would be a moms' group type of mom, but I'm really looking forward to it! Next on the list of things I said I'd never do is driving a minivan. I can handle a crossover, but let's call a spade a spade... it's a glorified station wagon. It's only a matter of time.

Good choice on the cloth diapers.... we picked the same brand after a lot of research. We are currently not using them since Britton is a newborn and it would be too much right now, but are hoping to start when he is 6 weeks. I'll let you know

hey dana. my brother and sister-in-law are doing cloth diapers. you may want to talk to them about it bc they have some they like better than others - the one they like looks like the one you have on your blog... love you!
