I've been fighting a cold all week. It was mostly a bad cough in my chest, until it hit me full force on Saturday. My cough is better, but now I have a lot of pressure in my head and face. I have been very hesitant to take medication during pregnancy, even ones that are on the safe list from my doctor. I finally got some Robistussin on Thursday night for the cough and I took one Tylenol today.
Last Friday we had a message from the furniture store saying our night stands were finally here. Remember the ones we ordered in November? I didn't check the messages in time on Friday, so I called Saturday. Customer Service is not open on Saturday, of course, so I called back Monday. The first available delivery date was Feb. 24th at an unknown time. I told her we both work during the day and need more than one day's notice in order to be home for delivery. She offered me a few other weekdays, and I'm thinking "What do you not understand about people not being able to take off work at the drop of a hat?!" I know it's not her policy, but it's still annoying. The first available Saturday was March 7th, so I took it. Naturally, I started crying as soon as I hung up. I can't claim full control of my emotions right now. I quickly pulled myself together and remembered they have a warehouse a few miles away. I called back and asked if I could pick them up. Sure I could, so I went about an hour later to get them. They look great and finally complete our bedroom very nicely. That night we had reservations for dessert at The Melting Pot. We had milk chocolate fondue with fruit, marshmallows, mini cheesecake, and coffee. Relax, mine was decaf.
My next appointment is on Thursday. It should be a quick check up. I'm going to ask my doctor about painting. I've been itching to paint at least one wall in just about every room in our house. It's a little too bland right now. Ryan is still worn out from putting up 4 coats of red plus primer in the living room. My mom offered to help, though. She is coming to visit again on Friday. I think we decided on a color for the guest bedroom, and I ordered a few samples for the nursery.
I've been trying to rest a lot this weekend. I haven't slept well the past couple of nights because of my cold. I already called in a sub for tomorrow. This is the first time I've called in sick since I've been teaching. I can't bet on a drastic improvement by tomorrow, so I want to give as much notice as possible instead of waiting until tomorrow morning. Not that I'm counting, but there are only 12 weeks of school left!
