This week at work was a little more calm with a couple of sick kids. Friday was crazy, though, with Valentine's parties and lots of sugar. I had a hard time getting G-man to leave the party and come back to our room. At first I couldn't understand why he was upset or what he was trying to tell me, but he wanted Ben 10 drawn on his valentine bag. I don't even know what Ben 10 is, but apparently it is very important. I had a couple of cookies, but I balanced them out with veggies.
We have been having problems with our garage door lately. As soon as it touches the ground it comes right back up. I have no tolerance for things like this. We have reset the force and it helps for a day and then it acts up again. A guy came Friday morning at 7:30 to "fix" it. I kept telling him we have reset the force and it does not help. I asked if there could be a problem with the circuitry. He assured me there wasn't and left. I swept out the garage and lowered the door. As sure as I'm sitting here the door came right back up! I immediately called his company back (we are on a first name basis by this point) and they are ordering a new system and replacing it next week. I think that's what I tried to point out, but what do I know?!
I gave in and bought a bigger bra this week. I'm still in denial about the size, so let's move on. I noticed this week that a playground is being built in our neighborhood close to the pool. There's a large open park area where people play when the weather is warm and the playground will be in that area. Great timing! Ryan brought me chocolate covered strawberries Friday evening when he came home. I was thinking about them the other day and he must have gotten my mind wave. Saturday was a quiet day for us. I made pancakes and he did the bacon. I don't know if I've ever made bacon since I smoked up the house when I was about 13. I didn't know that bacon made its own grease, so I had oil (and probably a lot of it) in the skillet. Not a pretty sight for a firefighter dad to come home to! I think I was banned from cooking alone for a while, and rightly so. Later we went to the gym and ate dinner at home. While I was cooking, Ryan went to the grocery store for guacamole ingredients, which was not on the menu for the night. He's been on a kick lately about making his own. He says he's good at it, and I'll have to trust him because I don't like guacamole. The relevant part of the story is that he brought me a Sprite! I have been wanting Sprite at random times, but I've only had one on Thanksgiving.
Even though we're still not telling our baby's name (when we finalize one) my dad wins the prize this week for most creative suggestion... Heaven Ann Hale. Get it?!
