On Tuesday I sold two sets of Christmas cards on etsy to a woman in Nashville! One of my very favorite episodes (rerun) of "The Office" came on Tuesday night. It's the one where Michael burns his foot in his George Foreman grill! There's no other show that makes me laugh out loud like "The Office" can! On Wednesday I went to the furniture store after work to check on our missing bed rails. I talked to the manager and he was very nice. He looked on his computer and said the rails are in stock and he doesn't understand why they didn't come last time. I scheduled a delivery for Friday since we will both have the day off. The night stands are back-ordered, so they will not be in until mid-December, and I can live with that. At least we can set up our bed and make some progress in our bedroom.
Saturday we dropped my car off at the Ford dealership because the "check engine" light came on a few days ago. It still drives, but I will feel better knowing whether or not something is actually wrong with it. The nice thing about Ryan having a company car is that we have a spare car during the day, so we don't have to rearrange our schedules. We also went to our neighborhood sales office to enter in a $100 Home Depot gift card give away. This morning Ryan "made" Pillsbury cinnamon roll bites. He is perfecting the bake time and I think these were his best yet :) Then we got a call saying we won the $100 gift card!! We have been meaning to go to Home Depot for paint and supplies, but we keep putting it off. Now I'm glad we waited! We also had a $75 card as a rebate from our refrigerator and a 10% off coupon, so we didn't pay anything out of pocket for the paint, supplies, and a ladder. Plus we had $50 left over for any future projects.
We did our weekly grocery shopping and I had forgotten how much grocery stores irritate me during the holidays. Everyone is out shopping for their big meals and piddling around. I just want to get what's on my list and get out. What a Scrooge, right?! We eat at a place called Flying Star and I always order a grilled cheese sandwich, so I decided to get the ingredients to make it at home. I like grilled cheese at restaurants, but not at home because I've always had them with regular bread and processed cheese slices. I got sour dough bread and real cheddar slices since that's what they use at Flying Star. I must say, this was the best g.c. I've ever made and it tasted just like Flying Star. For the money it costs to get one sandwich at the restaurant I bought bread and cheese and we both had one with plenty of leftovers for several more. Grilled cheeses all week! We heard the Titans lost :( We didn't get to watch it because they don't televise their games here very often. You'd think the whole country would televise the games of am undefeated team, but apparently not.
Thursday is our Thanksgiving dinner with Tony's family. As I mentioned in the last post, I'm a little nervous about annoying his mom. I'm taking green bean casserole, so I know there will be at least one thing I like :) Wish me luck and Happy Thanksgiving!
