Annie dog

I know you probably don't read this to hear my political agenda, but allow me to say that I am excited and relieved by the outcome of the election. Some of you are probably not as thrilled, but at least give Obama a chance. I think he can do some great things for this country. Please don't fear him based on e-mails that you have received and campaign ads. There is and has been a lot of false information circulating about him, his life, and his political positions. If you want to check some things out for yourself, which I hope you already did a long time ago, try www.factcheck.org  I acknowledge that both campaigns made false claims against each other, and this website is fair to point that out and give you the correct information.
On Tuesday, I ran some errands including buying our bedroom furniture on sale. It will be delivered on Tuesday, which is perfect because Ryan and I both have the day off. I'm ready for that room to be put together and settled. The kids at school were a little more calm this week. We didn't have as many meltdowns as last week. It was incredibly windy here on Wednesday. Sand was flying everywhere and at times it was hard to keep my eyes open when I had to be outside. It's frustrating how it gets everywhere, including inside the house. I should have taken a picture of the pile around the inside of our back door. On Friday someone from Canada bought a set of Christmas cards from my etsy store! I was very excited to make an international sale :) I'm seriously considering renting a booth in a local craft fair on the 22nd if I can get my act together by then. Saturday we went out to breakfast and bought a new mattress since we are moving up to a king size bed. It will also be delivered on Tuesday.
I have to admit that I've been homesick this week and frustrated about being here. I think a major part of it is because Annie dog has been kept at the vet since Friday morning. I know I can't do anything about it even if I were home, but I feel more helpless being away. She has an injured disk in her lower back and it is very difficult for her to walk. She has been receiving laser treatments and a cortizone shot. The nurse said she has improved a little, but they still want to keep her for a few more days to see if she gets better. I know this is really hard on my parents as we have all grown very attached to her over the past 5 years. She is no doubt a part of our family, and I don't think anyone expected something to happen to her at a young age. If you get a chance, send out a positive thought on her behalf. I know she's a dog and it might seem silly, but we love her.
Well, we are about to watch "Get Smart." It's supposed to be pretty funny so hopefully I can take my mind off things for a little while. Have a great week and happy Veteran's Day to all the veterans, which according to a girl in our class is a special day for people who take care of animals :) How cute!
