Long December

   I guess I need to back track a little to Thanksgiving. We had dinner at our friends' house with them and their parents. We ended up eating about 2 hours later than scheduled, which caused a little tension (not with us), but it was fine in the end. It definitely wasn't "home" but it was nice to have friends to invite us over. 

   Over the break, we painted a wall in our living room. It was a little harder than we anticipated. Our walls are textured. Apparently, that's the stylish thing here. Anyways, it made it harder to paint and the painters tape didn't stick flush to the wall. We have some touch-ups to do around the arch ways, but overall we're happy with it. We're really glad we only attempted one wall! I didn't do any shopping on Black Friday. Most of my shopping was done already, but to me there's nothing worth being in those crowds. We put up our tree, garland on our banister, and a wreath on the front door. I think we're set with decorations; we're pretty easy to please. I dug out one of my favorite holiday candles called "Glistening Snow" by Glade. It helped cover up the paint smell :) Our bed came and it looks really good! We should get the night stands later this month. 

   December seems like a long month a work. I got spoiled in November because we didn't have any full weeks of school. Only 2 more work weeks and we'll be home for a visit! I can't wait!!
