White Christmas

It's been snowing all day here, possibly a surprise for those of you who thought it didn't snow in NM. I ran 3 quick errands after school today and had to scrape my back window each time I came out of the store. I know I was only in Bed, Bath, and Beyond for 5 minutes and my car was covered! Naturally I'm hoping for the day off tomorrow :) This just in - APS on a 2 hour delay tomorrow! It scrolled across the screen as I'm sitting here watching Jeopardy. It's nice timing too because Ryan gets to sleep late tomorrow.
Last week at work was very busy. On Thursday we were short two adults and it was madness! I think the kids know when things are off and it seems like their behavior is more challenging on those days.

... I got distracted last night and didn't finish my post. I got a full snow day! Ryan and I are on the couch waiting for the blueberry muffins in the oven :) The scenery is really beautiful with everything covered in snow. I hope we don't have any problems getting home this weekend due to the weather. I don't think it's supposed to snow here anymore this week. Needless to say, we are very excited about coming home to see family and friends! However, it has been a little stressful trying to plan our time and get all of our events lined up. Even though no one is pressuring us, it seems like the expectations to come to everything are higher since we don't get to see family as often. It will be nice if we can establish some traditions (dates) so that our holidays are a little more predictable. We missed 2 events on Saturday evening. They are two of the ones "set in stone" and planned pretty far in advance. I hate that we missed them, but I have a lot of respect for planning, and I don't expect a group of 40+ people to change a date for us.
I have a lot of baking to do today for the faculty party tomorrow afternoon. I'm making sausage balls for the party and cookies for a "cookie swap." Actually Ryan is the sausage ball expert, but I'll do it since I have the extra time. They might not taste as good, though ;)
