Yellow Gray

I started my job on Wednesday. When I was hired, the principal told me I would be working with Special Ed. for a couple of weeks until all of the assistants are hired. Then I will be moved to a regular grade-level classroom. I've been helping in a classroom of 5 autistic boys, and I have earned every penny I made! It was pretty exhausting work, and I truly admire people who do it full-time. It's sad to see how the disorder affects their ability to communicate with others, because it seems like they know a lot more than they are able to communicate verbally. If you'd like more information on autism, check out this website...

My parents were here for most of the week and left Thursday morning. We had a good time and they helped us with several projects around the house. Friday night we had dinner with Tony and Shaina at a cool place called The Flying Star. It's a lot like Fido in Nashville and there's a coffee shop that partners with it called Satellite. It doesn't take us long to find good coffee :) Next week I'm attempting the DMV for the 5th time. A variety of reasons has prevented me from getting new tags: computer system shut down, didn't have my car here yet, and ridiculously long lines! I went twice last week, and I was about 50 people away from being helped and I just couldn't stay there. So I'll try again on Wednesday since we get out of school a little earlier each Wednesday. I'll make sure to take a book and a snack! Wish me luck.
I added a few new things to my shop at www.dyhale.etsy.com
