Big Week!

Several exciting things happened this week. On Monday, I got a job as a teacher's assistant at an elementary school very close to home. School starts Tuesday, but I can't start until my background check is complete. I have to go back for the 2nd part on Tuesday, so I may be able to start Wednesday. That is  big relief for me, and it will be good for me to get out of the house and meet more people. The 2nd thing I'm excited about is opening a shop on a website called etsy. It is a place for people to sell all kinds of handmade goods: soaps, cards, jewelry, clothing, etc. Some of you may know that I have been taking graphic design classes for several months in hopes of designing cards, invitations, etc. So, I opened a "shop" with several of my designs, and I will continue to add to it. Check it out at www.dyhale.etsy.com

My parents got here safely Friday night after a long trip. We've enjoyed hanging out with them and watching the Olympics. They've been helping us with a few small projects around the house, including a little yard work. We got a letter from the HOA on Friday saying that our "yard is missing and weeds are growing in the dirt." My yard is missing?!  I plead guilty to the weeds. I haven't done any yard work because I wasn't sure what was a weed and what was a plant. The landscaping is pretty different out here, and I didn't want to start digging up plants thinking they were weeds. I don't have my mom's green thumb :) My dad took care of the missing yard. He talked to our wonderful sales associate in the neighborhood office, and she is sending someone to replace our missing gravel. It's called Xeriscape. Basically, a lot of people landscape with with nice rocks and pebbles instead of grass, so we should be in good shape when that is replaced.

Thanks for reading and be sure to check out my designs!
