Tea Time

She picked out the necklaces and was very proud of her outfit.

We're missing our visitors and getting back to our daily routine. We took my mom to the airport last Wednesday and she got stuck in St. Louis over night due to the tornadoes. On our way home, we stopped at Trader Joe's for a few things. They have small carts for kids, but it is usually so crowded in there, so we haven't tried it. The store was not crowded that morning, so I let Raegan push a cart. She was excited and started by getting 2 cheese platters. We put those back in exchange for string cheese. She had a hard time juggling her free sample snacks with driving the cart, so I held her snacks while she focused on steering. She also got some yogurt and 5 bags of freeze dried strawberries, and we put 3 of them back. I was the only thing she ran in to. She clipped my heels and immediately said "Sorry!" She pushed the cart to the checkout, payed, and pushed the cart to our car. She was sad to leave and wanted to keep shopping. We had dinner with Tony and Shaina over the weekend and Raegan really wanted to hold Andrew. I don't think that's the best idea, so she settled for giving him lots of hugs and supervising his bath time.

On Tuesday we went to a tea party with play group friends. Raegan just heard "party" and was in! She wore her party skirt and a hat. She even insisted on napping in the skirt when we got home. I think she felt very special. She had fun at the tea party and sampled lots of goodies. I have to watch her closely when there's a spread of food or she will take one tiny bite of something then reach for another one, on and on. She drank tea (juice) from a little cup and poured more for herself. She wanted to hold the newest baby, but again settled for hugs. Today was her graduation from her Little Gym class and she got a medal. We are taking the summer off and will return in the Fall. She starts swimming lessons next week. She is excited to get in a pool for the first time. She said there will be fish and ducks in her class, and I didn't have the heart to tell her otherwise. She's not one to go with the flow of group activities, so I'm not sure how this will work.

This is the look I get sometimes when I ask her to say cheese and smile.
