17 Months

• new words: wa wa (water), no, neh (now - I noticed I say "Now then" when I finish a small task, and she has picked up on it), sanks (thanks), go, whoa!
• doing great with her fork and spoon
• new bed time routine involves milk while we clean up toys, then bath, jammies, brush teeth, and read a book with Ryan
• takes one nap, currently from about 11-1 and hopefully it will move to at least noon
• grabs her broom when I sweep - I never imagined a little child being so helpful. She can just tell when someone needs help and she is right there to lend a hand. I think one of her biggest frustrations right now is that she can't be in the middle of everything if we are doing something potentially dangerous to her, such as cooking. She would love to be right there on the counter next to the stove, watching everything and trying to imitate us. However, she is doing great with oven safety. I say, "stand back, stand back... (in the middle of my room I did not hear from you") and she back-pedals while I open the oven door. Everything is better with a song!
• eats anything we put in front of her, but isn't crazy about pizza ... could this really be my offspring?!
• flushes the toilet after we empty her diaper
• very interested in the pages of potty equipment in her catalogs - We may try potty training shortly after the holidays.
• size 5 1/2 shoe
• still loves her books, magazines, and puzzles - She likes for us to go through her books and magazines and ask"Where's the _______?" so she can point things out.
• feeds her dogs and baby doll
• loves to hear us sing
• wants to look at the camera screen as soon as I take her picture
• 16 teeth
• walks around with her dog blanket on her head
• loves to go through my wallet and hand me everything one at a time while saying "Heh doh," her version of "Here you go."
