Hollywood

Honestly, I have no idea how this happened! I went to peek at her after she fell asleep and somehow the dog ended up there to snuggle her. She has such good friends.

I can't believe I forgot to mention last time that Ryan surprised me with a dessert date at The Melting Pot last Saturday night. We put Raegan to bed and Tony and Shaina came over to stay with her while we were gone. They said she didn't make a peep and it was the easiest baby sitting gig they've ever had. I'm proud of us for not talking about Raegan the whole time.

Tuesday we went to the grocery store and Raegan decided to wear her sunglasses the entire time we were in there. I don't know why she did it because she usually takes them off 5 seconds after I put them on her in the parking lot. She got lots of smiles and comments like "Hey, Hollywood!" That night I tried a new recipe for baked macaroni and cheese. It was pretty good and had the potential to be really good. I put too much macaroni and it wasn't as flavorful as it could have been. I have a special gift for messing up recipes.

I ordered a new detergent for Raegan's diapers and it arrived this week. I was very anxious to try it after reading great reviews about it removing odors. This is what parenthood has done to me - I'm checking the mail box every day like a child, except that I'm waiting on detergent instead of a birthday card with $5 in it. Anyways, this detergent called Rockin' Green is made for cloth diapers as well as clothing, and there is a version specifically for hard water, which we have big time. When we started cloth diapers, I was prepared for dealing with poop, but I had no idea how strong ammonia smells from urine. RG comes it several scents, but I got unscented for Raegan's skin. She's doing great, but I don't want to rock the boat. I soaked them according to the directions and then enjoyed the wonderful smell of nothing. I also got a sample size of Rage Against the Raspberries, and it smells really good!

The tiny one's birthday is coming up soon and I'm not doing so well on her gifts. I have gotten her a couple of books lately, but I end up giving them to her instead of putting them away. It's becoming more difficult to breeze through the toy aisle with her now. She wants to touch and hold and chew on things that I have no intention of buying. So far, her birthday box has 2 books in it. I ordered her first doll today and a set of animal magnets. She loves to play with the 2 magnets I put within her reach on the fridge. The rest are too small and I worry about her choking, so I think she'll really enjoy the animals. I will try my hardest to put them in her box when they arrive. Speaking of the tiny one, she's not so tiny anymore. She weighed 20 pounds on the scale this morning! She's a great eater and has put on 2 & 1/2 pounds in the last 6-7 weeks. Good for her! I'm glad she'll be able to face forward in her big girl car seat when we transition soon.
