Father's Day: Part One

I thought today was Father's Day; I really did. I've been thinking today was Father's Day for weeks. Ryan and I bought cards for our dads and proudly mailed them last Monday to make sure they arrived on time. Yesterday while Ryan was gone, I tried three times to get Raegan to sign his card. We ended up with pink marker on her face and my leg. We were so excited to go out to breakfast (one of our favorite things to do). I put Ryan's card in the car seat since he usually puts her in while I get her bag ready. She picked it up and handed it to him with a big smile. While we were at breakfast I remember thinking it was a little sad that several strangers told me "Happy Mother's Day" a few weeks ago, but no one said a word to Ryan. Poor dads, I thought. We came home and put Raegan down for her morning nap and watched a show on the Military channel. They advertised a full day of Father's Day shows next Sunday. "What's wrong with them?! Why aren't they showing it today?" Then I called my dad to wish him a happy Father's Day. "Thanks! I think you're about a week early, though." "No I'm not. It's today." We politely went back a forth and then I checked my calendar. . . June 20th. I had even written it in on the 13th even though the calendar already had it printed on the 20th. Oh well. Ryan can have another special day next Sunday, but I'm not turning his clean socks right-side out again. That only happens once a year.

LOLOLOLOLOL!!!!! This is classic!! Please tell me you're going to have all of your blogs for the Rae's first year put into a book to remember how ABSOLUTELY BATTY having her has made you!! They do say that when you give birth you pass along some of your intellect to your child. That makes me think...maybe we WON'T be having 3!! LOL!! Love you. Tell Ryan HAPPY FATHERS DAY for us! :)

Will do! I don't know what to blame this on. At this rate of losing intellect, one little sibling for Raegan will be plenty. I was so sure of myself, so nothing made me question the date.

I found a website that prints your blog as a book, but I haven't done anything yet. Some of the formatting was off and I didn't feel like messing with it at the time, but it's something I really want to do eventually.

That's hilarious! I can definitely agree with forgetting many things once you have a kid! I can't tell you how many times I have bought groceries and left them at the checkout counter because I was too busy with Kaylor (did it last week at Target again). Happens to all of us!
