Santa was very good to us this year, as usual. Raegan got lots of books, a ducky bath tub, and her first American girl doll, Rebecca. She was released the same month Raegan was born. I also got a very special gift this year. First, a little background... a few years ago, my parents were cleaning out their garage and asked me if I wanted my American Girl dolls, Samantha and Felicity. I said "no" and my mom gave them to the daughter of a friend. Shortly afterwards, I saw an episode of Oprah that explained all of the research and work that goes into making each doll, her outfits, and stories historically accurate. The history major in me immediately had a deeper appreciation for them and wanted them back. Long story short, the little girl wanted me to have Samantha and her clothes back. I'm so happy to have her, but I also feel like the Grinch tearing down all of the Christmas decorations in the Who houses. She will be generously compensated for returning the doll and I hope Raegan will enjoy these dolls some day and learn from their stories.

We've had a great time seeing family and friends. I met several friends' babies, had pizza with my grandmother, and played The Beatles version of Rock Band with Ryan's family. I think Raegan enjoyed being with her family and warmed up to everyone. She made a lot of discoveries while we were gone: she rolled from her back to her stomach, put her feet in her mouth, laughed, tried bananas, and found her tongue. We had her 6 month pictures made last week and she was great. I can't wait to see them!! My grandmother gave us the Beaba Babycook to make Raegan's food, so that will be my new project. It steams the food and purees it in the same appliance. Picking out all of this fresh produce should be an adventure since I'm not as fruit and vegetable savvy as I'd like to be.
I don't usually make New Years resolutions, but this year I am going to lose 10 pounds sooner rather than later! I may have mentioned that we bought "Insanity," a 60 day workout by the same company that makes P90X. It's more focused on cardio rather than building muscle and you don't life any weights other than your own body weight for push-ups and dips. We got it right before our trip and we knew we wouldn't stick to it over the holidays. We did several workouts but we're starting over tomorrow.
Enjoy some pictures and Happy New Year!

Really enjoyed seeing the pictures! I know your Mom and Dad are so excited to be grandparents! So happy that you were able to get back your American Girl! Teresa B.
Love the pictures! Reagan is growing so fast. Gracie got her first American Girl doll this year for her birthday. She chose Emily. Gracie believes that Emily looks a lot like she does.
Buying fruits and veggies is not that difficult. Just remember to wash it very well when you get home! I made food for Gracie too, and she loved it. She eats anything these days.

Oh my!! I still have my Samantha and Kirsten dolls and even the Samantha bed! Only problem...I cut Samantha's hair and in fear of mom finding out, I shoved it into her sailor hat and put her on display in the top of my closet. I did it when I was like 11, didn't tell her about it until I was 21. She was so saddened. I can't wait to get one for Annabelle!
