Monday I went to Deszarae's play group again. The mom who hosted it used to be a kindergarten teacher and she did a story time with the kids. She had them completely silent after they had been running through the house about 5 minutes earlier. Tuesday we met Ryan, his supervisor, and another coworker for lunch. Raegan was a little fussy, so his coworkers wanted to hold her. Their strategy is to hold babies after they start crying so they can't be blamed for the crying... pretty clever. Anyways, they gave her back to Ryan and she calmed down. A few minutes later an older woman came up to him and Raegan (too close for my comfort) and said, "I have lots of grandchildren, so I've been watching you. I assume you're the father and you're the mother" (pointing to Ryan's 40-something year-old coworker). She said "No, she's the mom." The lady seemed a little confused by this. Then she said, "I couldn't help but notice that he (Raegan) didn't stop crying until dad held him." Ok, lady, time to move on. "Is it a boy or a girl?" "A girl." "Oh, I see the flowers on her outfit now." Goodbye, lady. Honestly, I thought the whole thing was pretty funny and I'm just glad she didn't want to touch Raegan because she approached us like she was about to pounce on her.
I started drinking Mother's Milk Tea this week to help my milk supply and I'm wondering if it's the culprit of my now clogged milk ducts. Awesome. I called my OB's office on Friday morning and I've done everything she told me to do: soak, hot shower, warm pack, massage, different nursing positions. It's a little better now. I'm really hoping it doesn't turn into an infection. "30 Day Shred" is going well, and by that I mean I'm at least doing it. I would probably see better results if I stopped eating Muddy Buddies. This body transition phase is not fun. My maternity shirts are too big and frumpy but my old clothes accentuate areas that I don't want accentuated just yet.
Thursday I tried a Moms Club in our neighborhood. It was at a house about a half mile away, so I walked with the stroller. I'm not sure what I think about the group yet. The kids were preschool and kindergarten age, so I felt a little out of place with a 7 week old who couldn't play with the other kids. Friday we went to Kohl's and I got Raegan a couple of outfits for being such a good sleeper lately :) She had a 7 hour and 8 hour night this week! The dresses were only $8.50 each! I think the one with hearts will be cute for Valentine's.
Saturday morning we went out for breakfast and Raegan was great! That night I went to see "Julie and Julia" with Shaina and JB. I thought it was cute and a really neat story line. Tony and Ryan stayed home with Raegan and played video games while she napped. She had a "good diaper" for them, if you catch my drift :) It serves them right for all the times I get the blowouts when I'm alone. I'm not sure what we'll be up to this week. We don't have any major plans so we'll just have to make our own fun.
