Last Week of Work!

This week I had a really nice shower at work. We got a lot of things for bath time and feeding, diapers, wipes, and clothes. My pregnant teacher friend got released from hospital bed rest Tuesday night and came to the shower on Wednesday (it was for her, too). She was still having contractions and had a notepad to keep track of them. Early Thursday morning her water broke and the baby was born 2 hours later! Several people told me this week how big I am getting, how big the baby will probably be, and how I can't possibly make it 6 more weeks Thanks, people, including you, Mom ;)  I'm not worried about how I look, but I am nervous about a big baby. But I keep telling myself what we learned in class: "My body was meant to do this." I have to be honest and say that I find myself getting annoyed at all the stereotypical pregnancy questions and comments, like pickles and ice cream and how I'm going to berate Ryan during labor, etc. I've been nothing but sweet throughout this whole ordeal.
Anyways, the baby should weigh almost 5 pounds by now and is about 18 inches long. I have an appointment on Wednesday, so we'll see how I'm measuring. Hopefully she is head down by now and getting ready to launch in a few weeks. I also made an appointment to meet with a potential pediatrician at the end of the month. My dad sent some cute pictures of me with babies through the years.
Ryan went out of town for 3 days this week and I'm glad everything went smoothly while I wasby myself. My mom got here Friday morning. On Saturday she and I had much needed pedicures and then put most of the finishing touches on the nursery. I ordered some circle wall decals and had a set of round mirrors from Target. We put those up and also hung another mirror over and floating shelf above the changing table. I'm still waiting on the bedding, which I'm not happy about. It was considered a special order and I was told to expect a 2-4 week delivery time. It's been 5 weeks now, and I did not get reply on my e-mail to customer service this week. I'm going to call them tomorrow. I'm also waiting on the cushions to the rocker to be recovered. Here's a little preview. I'll post the rest when the bedding comes in because I think the cushions will take a few more weeks.

Saturday night we saw "Angels and Demons." It was everything I hoped it would be! I don't think it's getting rave reviews, but I loved the book. It's a long book, so they understandably had to leave some things out of the movie, but I thought it was very well done. Dan Brown's next book involving Professor Robert Langdon is called "The Lost Symbol" and should be released in September. I can't express how ready I am to be done with work! I will miss my coworkers, but I have lost most of my patience with the daily grind. Only 5 more days!!!
