29 Weeks

I had a busy week at work. All of the kids were back and healthy. It's been several weeks since we've had all of them present on the same day consistently. We've been thinking a lot about Tamale's name this week. We already call her by her name but it still doesn't look quite right on paper yet. We love how it sounds, though. I can picture myself saying it calmly and yelling it. Every kid needs a good "yelling" name for those times when you need to "middle name" them when they're in trouble. Her dresser arrived this week, but it's chipped in one little corner, so we'll send it back. I hate to box it up and send it back for one little spot, but it's brand new and should not be damaged. I'm nervous about her coming early because I don't feel like things are in place yet. Emotionally, I'm as ready as I know how to be, but her room isn't put together and we don't have a pediatrician, etc. However, I organized her closet and feel a little better for being productive. By the way, the outfit in this picture seemed much cuter in person! But on the bright side the shirt was only $3.20 on clearance at Kohl's... back in December when I assumed I would still be wearing a small in everything. Little did I know.
Ryan has been doing P90X for a little over a week. You may have seen the commercials for it. It's pretty hard core, but he is sticking with it and even getting up early some mornings to do his workout before work. He seemed proud that he got a compliment from someone at work yesterday about looking good. His arms are about to rip right out of his sleeves :)  Back by popular demand, here he is at 29 weeks as well.
Friday I had the day off as a "Vernal Holiday" so I went for my glucose screening. I have to say, I don't understand why it can't be called Good Friday on the school calendar. People gladly take a day off for things they don't actually celebrate, such as MLK day or Presidents day. No offense meant, but a lot of people don't actually do something mindful on that day. I'll take a day off for anything! For example, I'm not Jewish, but if you want to give me the day off for Yom Kippur, I'll take it. I don't care. I don't see why it's offensive to call something what it actually is. Anyways... The orange drink wasn't as bad as I expected. It's not something I want to do again, but it wasdefinitely tolerable. I got to relax in a recliner for an hour until they drew my blood. That night we rented "Slumdog Millionaire." What I saw of it was really good, until I fell asleep. I've been like that for as long as I can remember. My mom is the same way. Ryan told me how it ended the next morning. It rained all through the night and most of the day Saturday. I couldn't believe my ears when I woke up during the night. Could this be rain?? It has also been extremely windy this week with winds reaching 50+ mph. Saturday night we went out to eat with Tony and Shaina and beat the guys at Trivial Pursuit again.
Congratulations to my cousin and her husband on the birth of their second daughter and Tamale's cousin, Harper Adeline. She's a tiny little one weighing 5 lbs. 11 oz. (she was a couple of weeks early). Everyone is doing well.
If you are interested in a little giveaway, check out Maggie Moo's Mom. She is giving away 5 custom made fabric key fobs. All you have to do is leave a comment about them by April 24th and your name will be entered to win one. I have ordered from Allison before and she is very talented and creative!
