We had a great visit to Nashville, and it was relaxing, for the most part, amid the holiday business. Ryan and I got to spend some rare alone time with each other. We enjoyed breakfast at Fido, a lunch date, and a coffee date (not all on the same day). We continued a few Advent activities of taking goodies to my dad's office, cooking with my mom and dad, and taking a treat box/craft to Laura's kids. I'd say the Advent calendar was a success, and we will continue this tradition for years to come. When we got back to NM, I baked some oatmeal cookies, and Raegan said, "Who are we taking these to?"
Raegan took a while to warm up to our family gatherings but had fun once she located the older cousins. She loves older kids and will pick them over kids her own age if both are available. She was very concerned about parties where she knew someone present had a mustache. Uncle Andy and his mustache won her over with fudge. When his family got ready to leave she said of the fudge, "That's staying here?!" Some of her favorite gifts included a parachute, rolling suitcase, guitar, and doll house. I got some nice measuring spoons, an Oreck vacuum (loving it), luxurious eye cream, and a book from Ryan.
Here's a photo recap:
My mom's mom made that ceramic Santa's Workshop and painted all of it by hand with incredible detail.
