I'll Take "Name That Book" for $200

Raegan is as funny and busy as ever. She gives birth at the drop of a hat and then has a new baby to take care of. She gently pats their back and bounces them when they are crying. The other day she held up a doll and told me, "She loves you a whole lot!"

Raegan also randomly quotes books. Sometimes we just look at each other and wonder "How does she know that?" Then several days later it hits us; it's really a fun game. She kept telling us she was going upstairs to her apartment to check on something. We couldn't figure out how she knew what an apartment was. Then Ryan figured out that it's from the Corduroy books. Lisa, the little girl who buys Corduroy, lives in a 4th floor apartment. Raegan loves Corduroy, and we read them regularly, but it took a few days to realize how she knew about apartments. She has also been talking about calling her grandpa, but we don't call anyone Grandpa. This was also from a book, Hooray for Amanda and Her Alligator! The story refers to Amanda's grandpa a couple of times. This kind of thing is a regular occurrence.

FYI, Santa has cut his beard. I wanted to let everyone know in case you didn't recognize him at first this year. Raegan is very torn over whether or not to like Santa. I think the beard is the source of conflict. She talks about him frequently from reading The Night Before Christmas. It's one of her favorites. Sometimes she announces, "Don't like Santa Claus!" "Okay, that's fine. You don't have to like him. Is it the beard?" "Yeah." Other times she tells me she called him and he cut his beard off. "I like Santa Claus." She asks to see him, and I tell her he will be around in December. I'm not sure what she will think when we see him at the Christmas Tree farm. She freaked out last year.

Last week we had a play group activity at our favorite cupcake shop. The kids got to go in the kitchen and help make the batter. Raegan was so excited. Her expression said, "I've been waiting so long to come in here!"

We have visited 2 potential preschools for next Fall. Most registrations are in January, so I thought we'd explore and make a decision soon. We would love to put her in a Montessori school, but I think we'd have to scale it back to Ramen for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
