Little Gym Grad

Raegan did really well on the flight back. Both take-offs where bumpy due to the weather and that scared her for a few minutes. When we got above the clouds she was fine, and we read books and played as much as we could with her strapped in. She did so great with being buckled into her car seat the whole time. The longest she's usually in it here is 20 minutes on occasion. When we changed planes, she was soaked from a diaper leak. She had more milk during the first flight than I realized. We had very little time to get to our next gate, so we did a super speedy head-to-toe change. Our next plane was a little late, so it worked out well.

Raegan has adjusted well to being back in NM. She asks for Ryan everyday, and I tell her he's at work. She's not used to that routine again since he had some time off during the holidays. It's always an adjustment coming back after being on somewhat of a break from cooking, cleaning, and watching Raegan alone. We went to play group Monday and saw all of our friends. It was someone's birthday, so we practiced singing "Happy Birthday" at breakfast. Tuesday was Raegan's 18 month check-up. She screamed and cried as soon as the nurse came in and cried almost the entire time. We didn't even get an accurate weight because she was flailing on the scale. Everything is good, though, and we go back at 24 months. That was the best news she heard all day. We got the green light to ease into potty training. About a month ago she started hiding behind furniture to poop. Then she always denied it because she didn't want to get changed. Since we've been back, she has been telling us, "Yay, poop!" right after she poops. We will get a potty chair soon and let her practice sitting on it before jumping into any kind of boot camp. I have no agenda or timeline; I just figure if she's aware of what's going on, why not go for it?! If she's not digging it, no big deal, no pressure.

Today was our last class of the semester at the Little Gym. We were so excited to be back, but Raegan was a little timid. At the end of class each child got a balloon and ribbon. You can understand that the balloon was a big deal and the ribbon went unnoticed. We signed up for next semester, which starts next week. She'll move up to the next age group (19-24 months) and be with some older kids.
