Green Eggs and Ham

I was hoping The 7 Month Itch was just a creative coincidence so I could use that as a title for my post a few weeks ago, but apparently there's also an 8 Month Itch. Maybe there's a lost sequel out there somewhere of Marilyn Monroe just waiting to be discovered.

So... I took Raegan back to the dr. about her eczema on Thursday. It was getting worse in the same exact spots as before, mainly her right leg. Thursday morning I decided to call as soon as the office opened, then sure enough she scratched one of her spots and it bled a little, so I called pronto. I was hoping to keep them from getting infected again, but no dice. She's on another antibiotic to clear up the staph infection. If the spots get bad again, the next step is to see a dermatologist. It's a little better, but I'd like to see more progress by now. If it's not much better by tomorrow afternoon, I'm going to call the dr. again. She's as happy as can be, though. She's exploring everything around the house. I cleaned off an old remote for her to play with and took the batteries out, so hopefully she won't slobber all over the one we use. I also bought her a set of measuring spoons and she was so excited. She's been shaking them all over the place.

Monday I hosted our play group for the first time. Since Wednesday is St. Patrick's Day, I had a green theme and also incorporated Green Eggs and Ham. We had celery, green apples, spinach dip, green grapes, and ham sandwiches. I read Green Eggs and Ham and the older kids decorated cookies. Laura shared this great idea with me for cookies that look like green eggs, and it was a hit! This is a good time to mention that I really enjoy planning parties, but I typically don't like being a hostess. I do not like it, Sam-I-Am! I was on edge the entire time. I'm not worried about our things getting messed up, but I can't help but make a mental note of every uncovered sneeze, each time one of Raegan's toys was touched, licked, stepped on, etc. As soon as they left, the sanitizing began, and I feel much better now. I haven't always been this way about germs; I'm sure it has something to do with having a baby :) When I look at a small child I just see a walking germ. I know that none of your children carry germs; I'm mainly talking about those other kids.

We don't have much on the agenda this week. I'm getting excited about March Madness! Here's to the Lady Vols not blowing it in the first round again this year and advancing to play UConn!
