Raegan had a great first Christmas! Santa and his elves were very good to her. She got Rebecca, the newest American Girl doll, books, stuffed animals, a ducky bath tub, and much more. I got a very special gift this year. In elementary school I had two American girl dolls: Samantha and Felicity. A few years ago my parents were cleaning out the garage and asked me if I wanted them. I said "no" and they were given to the daughter of a family friend. Shortly after I gave them away, I saw an episode of "Oprah" that explained all of the work and research that goes into each doll's story, outfits, and accessories. Being a history major, I instantly had a much greater appreciation for the dolls and wanted them back. I was kicking myself for giving them away, but I also knew they were being played with whereas I would have them stored in a closet. Long story short, the little girl decided to give Samantha and her outfits back to me. Samantha was fresh from the American Girl hospital, still in her gown and bracelets. Part of me feels terrible, like I'm the Grinch sweeping up all the Christmas decorations from the Who houses. But I'm very happy to have her back for Raegan to hopefully play with someday. I hope she enjoys the books and learns from them.
We took Raegan for her 6 month pictures on Tuesday. She was great and I can't wait to see the results! She did really well with sitting up for several photos. She will be 6 months next week and has her check up, so I'll update with her weight. We took her to my pediatrician for her eczema flair up when we first got here and she weighed 13 pounds and 8 ounces. I got the Beaba Cook from my grandmother to make Raegan's food, so that will be my project when we get back. I'm a little unsure about picking out all of the fresh produce because I've never picked out things like squash or avacados before.
Annie dog is injured again :( The bed in our room here is higher than most beds and she loves to jump on it and lay down in the sun. She jumped up yesterday morning and hurt her back. She's doing better than she was when this happened last year (when her number was almost up). She's walking around a little and still has an appetite, so that's encouraging. It's probably just a clever ploy to make us keep Raegan away from her.
We've had such a great time seeing family and friends and we hate to go back, but we must. Happy New Year, everyone!!

I had no part in this, other than taking the picture. Oh, who am I kidding, she looks adorable!

She really needs to touch Annie whenever she sees her. Annie's feelings are not the same.

My hat
