Our home has been Muddy Buddy-free for approximately 2 weeks and I hate it! I also hate the 10 pounds of pregnancy flab I'm still hanging on to, so the Muddy Buddies had to go away for a while, but not forever. That would just be cruel. Know what's also cruel? All the Krispy Kremes are coming back to our area while I'm trying to lose weight. I'm so torn, I don't know how to feel. It's a blessing and a curse.
I love her eyes in this one! I feel like she's looking at me like a dork for making such a big deal out of this and saying, "Mom, I got this!"
Here, dad, let me help
No... more... oatmeal
I traded out Raegan's clothes drawers. We moved up to the larger insert for her diapers, so the 3 month pants are a little snug. If she were in disposables she could still easily fit into 3 month pants. Seeing her in cloth diapers compels me to sing "Fat bottom girls, you make the rockin' world go round." She's too long for 3 month onesies, so I sadly put them away. They served us well for 4 1/2 months. I started a box of out-grown clothes, complete with a label and frowny face illustration. I think it's sad to put clothes away that she can't wear anymore. I'll hang on to them in case the next one is a girl and I'd eventually like to make a blanket or something out of all the cute patterns on her clothes, but I will not become a hoarder. Here's my take on baby clothing so far:
- Hands down, I think the cutest and most practical thing on a baby is a onesie.
- Dresses and gowns are cute, but they always get bunched up on her, so I don't bother
- I just realized I dress her the way I dress myself in the sense that she rarely dresses up :) She's a casual girl.
- Before I had a baby, Carter's was my favorite brand aesthetically speaking. Lucky for me, that brand fits her body type the best because their onesies are long and slim.
- I'm jealous of babies with enough hair to hold a bow, but I can't bring myself to make her wear a head band.
- Footed onesies are a pain for diaper changes, especially the ones that only snap down one side. I feel like I have to contort her to get her legs in and out.
- My favorite cool weather outfits are coveralls, the long sleeve outfits without feet. They are great for diaper changes and great for a longer baby like Raegan because they don't confine her feet.
- What babies can fit in those itty bitty socks? Granted, I didn't even think to put socks on her for the first month (life was a little "nebulose," as Michael Scott would say). When I tried those little socks on her I could tell right away that they were too small. She has been wearing 6 month socks for quite a while. Are you sensing a pattern here? She may have big feet like me.
Ryan is taking Friday off, so we will be tucked away safe and sound at home. There's no way I'm getting out with the crazies on Black Friday. There's nothing I need bad enough to put myself through that. Good luck to you if you're venturing out.
P.S. Originally, the title of this post was intended for Raegan in her diapers, but as I look back on it, it aptly applies to me, too. Sigh.
