24 weeks

I had another rough week with the sinus infection, but I finally got some antibiotics on Thursday and I'm doing much better. Friday night was the first time I've slept through the night in a while without having to get up and blow my nose so I could breathe. Monday was my regular monthly check up, and everything looks good. On a normal visit, they check my weight, blood pressure, listen to the baby's heart beat, and now she measures my fundal height (size of the uterus). My mom got to go with me and then I took her to the airport. My nurse said that my doctor might not be there because she had just delivered a baby that morning at another hospital, but she made it and was only about 20 minutes late.
It was very warm here for most of the week. A few days we had 70 degree weather. It's been extremely windy the past few days, which blows sand everywhere. We also get trash in our yard from the construction going on behind us.
Ryan and I read an interesting article on cnn.com this week about babies watching TV. Several studies have been released recently that followed children from birth to age 3 and found that TV and DVDs (even Baby Einstein, etc.) had no cognitive benefit for them. I read an article a few weeks ago that said the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends no TV before age 2. I don't remember exactly how much TV I watched when I was little, but it definitely wasn't as much as most kids watch today! You can read the entire article here if you'd like.
Today was a rainy day, but it cleared up by the afternoon. I didn't even know there was rain in the forecast. I couldn't figure out why it was still dark as I was waking up at 7:00 (in my defense, it hardly ever rains here). On a different not, I'm in a dinner rut. We have our 4-5 favorite meals and don't venture much, but I need some new recipes. Any ideas?

Hey. I never put videos on for Chase when he was younger and he still doesn't watch any TV. He has zero interest in it-it may catch his eye for a minute or two but then he moves on. So it can be done. I am glad he doesn't watch TV. Some kids zone out when they watch TV which doesn't seem healthy, but to each their own.

Interesting article. The only thing that Kaylor watches or even cares to watch for a little while is Sesame Street/Elmo! I'll have to get back with you on a recipe. I have a great hashbrown casserole. Bringing out a southern dish! I'll email you with some that I have.
