I apologize for not posting last week: I don't have a good excuse. I'll get you caught up on the past couple of weeks. First of all, I'm happy to report that I'll be staying in the special needs classroom for the rest of the year! If you recall, I didn't enjoy being in there at first, but I have really grown to enjoy it. Last Monday, our principal asked me if I wanted to stay and I said "yes." I was hoping to have the option to stay and it worked out. Being with these kids has been a really good experience for me. As far back as I can remember, I have been uncomfortable and even scared around people with mental disabilities. Being in this classroom has forced me out of my comfort zone and put me in a situation I would not choose to put myself in. It's not always easy, but it's worth it. I wish I could show you their pictures, but I don't think I'm allowed to put them on the Internet.
Ryan and I enjoyed a nice 3-day weekend with our families on my fall break. We got to see and hold baby Alex for the first time. Of course we think he's very cute and looks like his mom right now. Our other nephew, Hayden, is growing very fast. He's 18 months and seems very talkative for his age. He says, "I great. I silly," and thinks Alex "is so yittle" (in a high-pitched voice).
The Balloon Fiesta ended yesterday. Actually, Saturday and Sunday's events were cancelled due to hail. It was really cool to see so many balloons up each morning last week, especially the special shapes. I took a good picture of the Energizer Bunny floating by on my way to get coffee.  We ordered new bedroom furniture tonight, and I'll post pictures when we get everything set up.
I guess that's it for now. I added some new cards to my shop if you'd like to check them out. Enjoy the pictures.
