Clowns

being silly with dad and peeking around the corner at me

Can you see her little Homer Simpson sprigs of hair sticking up over the high chair?

Mittens to keep her from scratching her eczema.

I mainly keep this blog to share pictures and our daily life with friends and family, but it also serves as a journal for me. One night last week I started reading through my pregnancy posts and some of Raegan's early weeks of life. I'm so glad I have this collection of my thoughts and Raegan's development. It's neat to look back and see when she started sleeping for longer periods at night and how nervous I was to take her out by myself for the first time. I've kept journals off-and-on throughout my life, and I always enjoy reading them years later. I encourage you to keep one in some form if you don't already.

Monday we went to a birthday party for a little girl in our play group. I knew ahead of time there was going to be a clown, but we went anyways and I did great! You might be thinking, "Don't you mean Raegan did great?" No, I'm proud of me. I certainly didn't want her to be afraid, but if it had scared her I would have been more than happy to step out of the room. I don't know when my clown troubles started, but they make me very uncomfortable. I don't remember any traumatic experiences. I watched "Bozo" all the time and wanted to be on the show to play the Grand Prize Game. But somewhere along the way, things turned creepy. Also included in this category of creepiness are mascots and anyone in a mask. As long as we keep our distance everything will be okay.

It snowed here most of the day on Thursday and then headed to Nashville from what I've seen and heard. It only stuck to the grassy patches here which are few and far between. Saturday morning we let Raegan drink water from a glass and we heard a "clink clink" sound. She is getting a tooth! I had no idea by the way she has been acting. She's as happy as ever, although she has been more difficult to feed lately. She is very squirmy and acts like she's not interested in her bottle. She makes a variety of sounds including "da da da" and an occasional excited shriek. We also think she is grunting at us to get our attention. If she's playing and we're not looking at her she says "uh uh uh" until we look over and she flashes a big smile. That's all she wanted :)

We have an uneventful week ahead. We're just tidying up and waiting on a visit from Mimi on Saturday!!
